The control unit ("KSU") is the heart, or brain, of a phone system. It connects to your phones and the incoming lines from the phone company, plus accessories like paging amplifiers, voicemail systems, and music-on-hold sources. Some phone systems, including the Panasonic KX-TDA, KX-TDE and KX-NCP series models, can also connect to your local computer network, and to the Internet.
